News Regarding Entries for the 2017 Knik 100 and Knik 200 Races

Some exciting announcements regarding the 2017 Knik races. Please read all the way through.

Race day begins Saturday, January 7, 2017 on Knik Lake.
K200 entry fee is $300.00
K100 entry fee is $175.00

If trail or lake conditions are not acceptable on that date on Knik Lake, we will move the race to Deshka Landing in Willow.

If trail or river conditions are not acceptable on that date at Deshka Landing, we will postpone the race to a later date to be announced but it will be held sometime in February.

NEW PROCESS FOR REGISTERING
Entries for the K200 and K100 will be taken beginning Saturday, October 1 at noon. Register online on our website at http://knik200sleddograce.com/.

All mushers who have registered and paid their entry fee in full for the K200 between noon on October 1 and noon on October 2 will be eligible for a random drawing of 40 teams for the race. The teams chosen will be posted before midnight on October 2. If at that time your team does not draw a slot you will be put on the waiting list. Those on the waiting list from the random drawing can withdraw and have their entry fee refunded in full if you notify the Race Manager before October 31.

We will also conduct a random drawing for the ten K100 teams in the same manner and during the same time period. Entry fee refunds will be handled the same way.

PREVIOUS YEAR KNIK RACE CHAMPIONS
Also new this year is that we will reserve one slot each for the K100 and K200 races for the previous race champions. They must register and pay their entry fee in full during the registration period noted above but will be guaranteed a slot if they choose to take it. Because the 2016 races were cancelled, the K200 reserved slot will be held for Will Rhodes who won in 2015. The slot for the K100 will be held for Jeff King who is the most recent winner of the K100 which was in 2014.
