New Race Course for Knik 200 but Knik 100 Cancelled

After careful consideration, the Knik Race Committee has determined that because of current conditions, starting and finishing the Knik 100 and 200 races at Knik Lake is not a viable option. To avoid cancelling the Knik 200 race altogether, an alternative race course has been chosen. Knik 200 teams will start at the Deshka Landing

Changes in the Knik 200 Field of 40

Tim Krause withdrew from the Knik 200 which opened up a slot. Several teams at the top of the waiting list declined to move up which enabled Billy Worthy to take the 40th spot. For more details see the musher list on our website: http://knik200sleddograce.com/knik-200/2015-knik-200-mushers/

Alternate Race Date if Necessary

If poor or unsafe trail conditions require it, we will postpone the Knik 100 and 200 races from January 3-4, 2015 until January 31-February 1, 2015. The Knik Race Committee will make that determination on OR around December 25, 2014. If the race is postponed, mushers will have until midnight January 1, 2015 to withdraw

We Finally Have Snow

We got about 10.5″ of snow all at once a few days ago here in Willow. Daytime highs have consistently been below freezing (finally). As we count down to race day on January 4, we’re hopeful that trail conditions will be perfect.
